Yale Debuts AC-Powered Order Selectors and Heavy Duty End Rider Series

Yale Materials Handling Corp., Greenville, N.C., launched a series of AC-powered order selectors with lifting capacities of 1,500 to 3,000 pounds at MODEX this week. The series includes a heavy duty counterbalanced OS030BF, standard duty counterbalanced OS030EF, straddle selector SS030BF and furniture selector FS030BF.

“The order selector series offers intelligently applied technology like Smart-Glide, a continuous height-sensing system that optimizes the maximum travel speed at various fork heights by providing step-less speed control,” said David McNeill, warehouse products manager. “This technology leads to faster travel speeds, improved acceleration and increased productivity.”

The ergonomically designed operator’s compartment has a low step height, wide-cushioned floor, and a foot switch position that promotes a natural stance. The pallet clamp automatically centers and grips pallets.

Yale also displayed its new heavy duty MPE060-080VG end rider series. Rigorously engineered to withstand heavier duty cycles, the MPE060-080VG series offers a capacity range of 6,000 to 8,000 pounds. The series’ undercarriage is enhanced with more robust tie bars, frame sections, linkages, casters and bearings to provide greater strength and stability.

Reinforced with 25 percent more steel, the MPE060-080VG series’ forks are specifically designed for smooth pallet entry. Increasing fork-pallet interlocking pressure by 500 percent helps to secure the pallet to the floor and allows for successful first-attempt pallet exit. The increased exit roller size reduces a pallet’s tendency to drag on exit.

The MPE’s new metal handle saves seconds of pick time and increases floor and low-level picking efficiency with the Smart Coast Control with Pick Assist option. Once the operator has the handle in an optimum position for floor level order picking, the Smart Coast Control function is easily activated by pressing the Pick Assist button, which allows operators to advance the truck to the next picking location at a walking speed.
