A-Plant invests £6m in JLG equipment

UK rental company A-Plant has expanded its range of equipment for working at height by investing over £6 million in almost 300 new powered access machines from leading manufacturer, JLG. The A-Plant order is one of the biggest to be won by JLG in the UK this year and the new machines are currently being delivered throughout the A-Plant Service Centre network.

The order comprises diesel articulated boom lifts from 10.36 to 24.38m (34 to 80ft), diesel stick boom lifts from 13.71 to 25.9m (45 to 85ft), electric booms from 10.36 to 13.71m (34 to 45ft) and electric scissor lifts from 3.65 to 12.19m (12 to 40ft). This latest investment with JLG confirms A-Plant’s access fleet as one of the newest and most environmentally-efficient anywhere in the UK.

All of the new diesel JLG models are fitted with fuel-efficient Stage IIIB/Tier 4 compliant engines and the electric models offer environmental and sustainability benefits such as double the battery life of hydraulic drive machines and zero emissions.

A-Plant’s regional managing director Paul Dennis said, “We have traded with JLG for many years as they offer some of the highest specification products on the market. More and more of our customers require environmentally friendly and Stage IIIB/Tier 4 compliant equipment to meet ‘green’ building requirements, so this has been a key consideration in the selection of equipment. The new range also includes equipment with longer run times, zero emissions and less dependency on hydraulic oils.”

The latest additions to the fleet include the Toucan 12E Plus, a 34ft electric boom lift which enables hirers to operate in narrow operating spaces, with greater vertical and horizontal reach to operate up, around and over obstacles in restricted indoor and outdoor spaces. Equipped with basket rotation, its 345deg rotating mast offers superb positioning capabilities.
