Columbus McKinnon Expands Offering for Offshore Applications | Industry News

Columbus McKinnon has expanded its line of products for the offshore oil and gas industry to include DNV-type approved shackles and DNV master sub-assemblies. In addition to these products, the company manufactures complete floor-to-ceiling material handling systems, including everything from overhead cranes and lifting beams to chain and rigging hardware for oil and gas applications.

Columbus McKinnon's expanded line of DNV-type approved shackles are bolt, nut and cotter style shackles that meet DNV Standard 2.7-1 offshore containers specifications and comply with DNV lifting appliances requirements (3.1 works material certificates can be provided upon request). The company also offers a line of serialized shackles and master sub-assemblies that meet DNV Standard 2.7-1 and 2.7-3 offshore containers specifications and 2.22 lifting appliances requirements. These products are witness tested and supplied with CG3 documentation.

Columbus McKinnon also has explosion-proof and spark-resistant air chain and wire rope hoists for environments with high levels of explosive gas, vapor, or dust. Designed to help prevent catastrophic events and keep operators safe, some of the company’s most popular explosion-proof and spark-resistant hoists include the Yale Cable King and Global King, Shaw-Box World Series and Budgit air chain hoists. With engineered configurations, these hoists are well suited for offshore platforms, refineries, pipelines, and downstream oil and gas processing facilities.

Columbus McKinnon also manufactures low-headroom hoists, including the Zephyr from Chester Hoist, to help overcome the challenges of confined workspaces in offshore applications. Rack and pinion trolley drives and track clamps that keep the trolley secured on the beam and prevent the load from moving due to vessel motion are available as well.
