Former SC&RA chairman Terry Young dies

Terence Lee Young, former SC&RA chairman of the board and president and CEO of Construction Safety Experts, died on 4 June, after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

Headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, USA, Young’s company became a leader in safety training and risk management, providing world-class services to industries that include nuclear, oil and gas, steel, pharmaceutical, chemical, power, wind power, pulp and paper, and the commercial construction industry. He was a member of SC&RA (Specialized Carriers and Rigging Association), where he served on the board of directors and as a past president. Young was also an OSHA instructor, OSHA VPP star assessor, and was the author of more than 70 published safety articles. He will be remembered for his character, hard work, generosity, and down-to-earth presence.
