Hitachi Europe names new managing director

Maidenhead, UK-based crane drive manufacturer Hitachi Europe Ltd has named Kiyoshi Yamamoto managing director, effective October 1 2012.

Yamamoto, who currently serves as executive vice president at Hitachi America, succeeds Akira Shimizu, who has been appointed general manager of the firm’s international strategy division.

Yamamoto graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo University and joined Hitachi Ltd in 1983.
