IMT Adds Midsize Crane Body to Dominator Mechanics Truck Line

Iowa Mold Tooling Co., Inc., Garner, Iowa, has added key features from its Dominator mechanics trucks to the DSC20 crane body to increase operator workspace and provide greater accessibility for tools, as well as bring the crane body into the Dominator mechanics truck family.

Ideal for small to midsize equipment maintenance applications, the Dominator DSC20 can incorporate IMT telescopic cranes up to the 20,000-pound capacity 2020 model. Typical applications include replacing or repairing hydraulic cylinders, track components, scraper blades, buckets, hydraulic pumps, engines, and transmissions.

Two new, patent-pending features have been added to the Dominator DSC20 crane body, including a single-handle latch on the tailgate with a three-point mechanism, which reduces the amount of force required to open and close the latch, and an enhanced shelf hanger bracket system that enables quick adjustments of compartment shelves. Rain eaves have also been added to the sides of the truck to divert water away from the tops of the compartment doors. The visibility of the rear LED taillights has improved. A patented floor design helps maintain the truck's lightweight body without sacrificing structural integrity.

According to Tim Worman, product manager of commercial vehicles at IMT, all enhancements were based on customer needs. “The people using these trucks every day have tough jobs and know exactly what they need to make their trucks easier to use,” he said. “Customer input was critical to the enhancements we made to our other Dominator mechanics trucks, and we've now taken that same insight and applied it to the Dominator DSC20. The result is an ideal configuration for our customers who need to provide field service for smaller equipment.”
