Keytroller Nominated for Plant Engineering’s Product of the Year

The new generation LCD601 access monitoring system for forklifts and equipment from Keytroller, LLC, Tampa, Fla., has been named a finalist for Plant Engineering Magazine’s Product of the Year in the Material Handling category.

The device, which serves as an addition to mobile equipment, limits access to only trained and authorized operators with a valid RFID card. It makes operators accountable for damaging impacts and speeding, automates the OSHA required daily checklist, warns operator and management when training and maintenance is due, and transmits all usage event data wirelessly to the client’s server. Users can install a Keytroller in any make or model vehicle, including electric, gas, LPG, or diesel models.

The system’s Keypatroller software generates automatic emails and produces reports and graphs on usage events and trends. The device’s color LCD display is housed in a rugged custom enclosure suitable for outdoor and freezer weather extremes.

This is the 24th year Plant Engineering has offered the Product of the Year contest for new products that improve productivity and safety in manufacturing operations. Each subscriber receives an electronic ballot via email with all of the year’s new product finalists and then chooses the new product he/she thinks will most help their operation. Plant Engineering will announce the winners of the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards in the April 2012 edition of the magazine in print and online.
