More than 300 brands have confirmed for GIS 2017

Less than three months before the official opening of the 6th edition of GIS, the exhibitor numbers continue to increase, backed by Italian and international associations such as ESTA and IPAF. This year new Italian access platform awards will also be launched. GIS is held on 5 – 7 October at PiacenzaExpo, Piacenza, Italy.

GIS organiser, Fabio Potestà said, “If the number of bookings keeps this pace the exhibition centre of Piacenza will be filled for the first time since the very first edition of our event and we believe that the number of visitors will easily exceed the 10.000 units, which is an extremely high figure, considering that the visitors of our show are mainly users or specifiers of the machines, equipment and vehicles displayed at our show.”

“It is not easy to specify all the business categories of the GIS visitors, but among these, there are: lifting and specialised transport contractors; large and small rental companies; construction and building contractors; precast concrete firms; steel mills and metal trading companies; oil & gas and power generation operators; plastics, rubber and converting technical managers; plant construction and maintenance contractors; removal and breakdown assistance; waste and scrap (ferrous and not) collecting operators; forestry and wood trading companies; but also port and intermodal terminals; railway companies; logistic managers in the airport sector, shipyards and tourist marinas; gardening and tree-care; public lighting companies; firefighting; civil protection; and Italian Armed Forces Officials. We are very pleased to announce that not only the Italian Navy, but also the Italian Army has confirmed its official support at GIS 2017, confirming the validity of our event”.

For the 2017 edition of GIS a full programme of technical seminars and conferences – related to operator training and safety issues – is planned: some of them are organised with the support of Italian industry associations.

New for 2017 is the ItalPlatform – Italian Access Platform Awards, to be held in the beautiful structure of the Alberoni Gallery in Piacenza on the evening of Wednesday, 4 October, during which awards will be presented to the manufacturers of the most innovative aerial platforms, plus businesses users and professionals who excelled in the working at heights training and safety.

ItalPlatform joins the other two events organised alongside GIS:
ITALA – Italian Terminal and Logistic Awards which will be held in the evening of 5 October dedicated to the terminal, intermodal and logistics operators, and ILTA-Italian Lifting and Transportation Awards which will be held in the evening of 6 October for the lifting and heavy transport companies.
