Nissan Forklift Produced 200,000th Forklift in 2011

Nissan Forklift Corp., Marengo, Ill., produced its 200,000th forklift at its Marengo facility in 2011, marking the production of 200,000 Nissan and Barrett branded forklift trucks. A Platinum II 3,500-pound Cushion I.C. forklift was the 200,000th lift truck to be produced since Nissan Forklift began manufacturing forklifts in the United States in 1988.

The company reached the 100,000th milestone in 2002, 14 years after beginning U.S. production of forklifts and materials handling equipment. The manufacturer’s most popular forklift model is the Cushion I.C. truck with a 5,000-pound capacity. It took Nissan Forklift 14 years to produce the first 100,000 forklifts, and about half that time to produce the second 100,000 forklifts.
