Remote Control Maker Åkerströms Signs French Distributor
Swedish remote control maker Åkerströms Björbo has signed a partnership with Transmission Aquitaine in France which will distribute Åkerströms radio remote controls for industrial and mobile markets in France. The new distributor will allow Åkerströms to debut in the French radio control systems market, and also represents another step forward in the company’s international expansion.
Transmission Aquitaine was founded more than 30 years ago and is a specialist in mechanical transmission and industrial automation. The company markets automation products across southwestern France and provides electric motors, transmissions, automats, inverters, robots, and more for industrial and agricultural applications.
Transmission Aquitaine also supplies various solutions in automation and transmission fields, and its in-house engineering specialist team assists customers with various projects. It is located in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region and has 10 employees with plans to expand.
“Our customers constantly need new solutions in automation and transmission. This opportunity to also offer radio control systems to our existing customer base broadens our current offerings and strengthens our position further,” said Xavier Leveugle, CEO at Transmission Aquitaine. “Åkerströms radio controls complement our existing solutions, for example for winemakers, conveyor belt manufacturers, sawmills, agriculture, and the airline industry. These industries have very high requirements on quality, reliability and efficiency. We know that Åkerströms products have an excellent reputation in these areas.”
The partnership agreement means that Transmission Aquitaine adds to its range Åkerströms’ radio control products Remotus and Sesam—robust radio controls for industrial and mobile applications.
