Snorkel UK highlights unique narrow scissor lift at Executive Hire show 2020

Snorkel UK, the official distributor for Snorkel aerial work platforms and Ruthmann Blueluft tracked spider lifts in the UK, is showcasing five products at the annual Executive Hire Show, which opens today – 5 February.

On its 50sqm booth space at the front of Hall 1 in the Ricoh Arena, Snorkel UK is highlighting a unique product for the UK market. The Snorkel S2755RT, and the smaller S2255RT, are the only compact rough terrain scissor lifts to measure just 1.45m wide, while maintaining comparative performance and specifications to their 1.8m wide counterparts.

The S2255RT weighs 2410kg with a working height of 8.5m, and the larger S2755RT weighs in at just 2750kg with a maximum working height of 10.1m. The low weight means that the lifts can be transported on a conventional plant trailer, enabling tool and plant hire companies to provide low cost, rapid response transport solutions for their customers.

Built in the UK, both the S2255RT and S2755RT can climb gradients up to 35%, feature a roll-out deck extension which expands the working area to a spacious 1.4m x 3.93m, have an inside turning radius of just 2.5m and can lift capacities of 420kg and 300kg respectively.

Snorkel offers the S2255RT and S2755RT in two power source options. They can be supplied as a Kubota diesel variant or fitted with Snorkel’s innovative bi-energy system that enables the lift to be switched between the diesel engine and full electric battery power. This provides a zero-emission option, and the flexibility to use the lift either indoors or outdoors, as non-marking high grip tyres are fitted as standard.

Andrew Fishburn, managing director at Snorkel UK, said, “The narrow rough terrain scissors are being very well received in the UK and Ireland. Due to space constraints, many light industrial units are being built closer together and cladding contractors have been able to use these lifts to skin the sides of these units without the use of scaffolding. The ability to tow these lifts on a trailer is another big advantage  and makes these lifts more accessible to hire companies who may not run products of this size.”

The Snorkel S2755RT will be on display at the Snorkel UK booth, in a special display to highlight its ability to access restricted gaps between industrial buildings.  Alongside the S2755RT, Snorkel UK are displaying the Snorkel S3010P and S3010E mini scissor lifts, the Snorkel S3219E electric slab scissor lift, and the Snorkel A38E articulated boom lift.
