Star Industries Premiers New Telehandler Attachments

A prototype of the Glazer Platform Model 1208 from Star Industries, Fort Worth, Texas, was on display last week at the Lift and Access Telehandler Showcase. Featuring a 600-pound capacity shelf on the exterior of the platform, the Glazer Platform allows glazers to walk glass into position at heights without sacrificing safety or platform capacity.

To safely move glass or other materials, glazers fit the exact width of their materials between adjustable vertical standards and strap them in. Neoprene rubber cushions the materials on the shelf. When in position, glazers can then move the glass from the forklift without leaving the personnel platform.

Star Industries' Glazer Platform is OSHA-compliant and will be shown to the general public at World of Concrete and The Rental Show. Featuring a 1,000-pound capacity on the platform deck plus the 600-pound capacity shelf, the platform allows up to four people and their materials to be carried on the platform.

Another product on display at the Telehandler Showcase was Star Industries' Model 1302 two-foot truss boom, which provides a method of safely handling suspended loads while staying compliant with OSHA and ANSI requirements. The standard Low Profile truss boom can be used with most forklift models except those that use an extra wide Quick-Tach design.

Weighing less than forks, the Model 1302 Quick-Tach truss boom provides a swivel hook for straps or slings at the standard two-foot forklift load center with a capacity of up to 10,000 pounds. Supplied with a Quick-Tach mounting to fit the specific make and model of the forklift used, the Model 1302 provides a secure method of attachment to the forklift. Additionally, it is designed to sit upright when disconnected so it can be easily reconnected when needed again.
