The events sector needs more support

Live events around the world have been devastated: from major festivals and landmark theatres, to grassroots venues and business events. Without major immediate support from government, the entire supply chain is at risk of collapse. A supply chain that includes some of the most skilled and technically expert members of the lifting industry.

#WeMakeEvents – RED ALERT is hosting major outdoor events in London and across the UK on Tuesday 11 August, calling on the UK Government to “Throw us a line!”

This day of action aims to raise awareness of the events sector which is worth £100billion and employs up to 1 million people in the UK alone. Alongside the London event a number of events are being held across the UK.

On the day of action in London, journalists will board a boat at Westminster Pier, London, then sail down The Thames through a series of ‘arenas’ which will feature iconic landmarks lit up red in solidarity.

Along the route, thousands of industry members will line up, socially distanced, on riverbanks and bridges and, with the help of leading production experts, the capital will look like it’s never been seen before.

Named artists and high-tech production will ensure this powerful and memorable event will draw attention of mainstream media and politicians.

Thousands have already signed up to attend this unforgettable day of action, there are limited tickets available but you can still sign up here.
