Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electrical Industrial Corp. Starts Industrial Systems Business Unit, Opens Texas Operations

Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electrical Industrial Corp., Roanoke, Va., has formed the Industrial Systems Business Unit. This new operational unit combines two of the company's key technology segments, serving the metals and material-handling industries.

"These two business units have been core to TMEIC's success throughout the past 60 years," said Declan Daly, general manager of TMEIC Industrial Systems. "TMEIC is the global leader in automation and industrial drives technologies, and regularly deploys those solutions in metals and material-handling scenarios worldwide. This unification will enhance existing services to those industries, while promoting cross-industry innovation through collaborative solution development."

Kevin Russell, strategic accounts director for TMEIC Industrial Systems, said: "Our solutions are regularly deployed throughout various industries around the world, and this unification allows us to devote the brightest engineering talent at TMEIC to driving those industrial segments forward, while encouraging collaborative systems development and expanding new technologies," 

TMEIC Corporation is currently working on a number of significant industrial projects, including a major steel mill upgrade in Eastern Europe, a new paper mill in North America, two large port facility automation projects in China, and over 1.5 Gigawatts of new utility scale photo-voltaic inverter projects in North America. To support these and other projects, TMEIC Group opened its first manufacturing plant in the United States. TMEIC Power Electronics Products Corp. commenced operations on Sept. 28, 2015, in Houston, Texas.
