UpRight Acquired by The Tanfield Group

The Tanfield Group, of The United Kingdom, recently announced it has acquired UpRight International Manufacturing Ltd., Dublin, Ireland. Tanfield will take over UpRight's distribution operations in the United States and Japan.

With Tanfield retaining distribution rights for the UpRight alloy scaffold towers, the production of UpRight machines will stay in Dublin while the two companies evaluate the possibility of Tanfield's taking on part of the facility.

“The purchase of the powered access arm of UpRight will make us a truly global player in the industry,” said Darren Kell, business development director for Tanfield. “UpRight has a comprehensive range of quality products, distributed globally through a professional dealer network.”

The separation of the two entities allows each company to specialize in one area, said Noel Corcoran, managing director of Upright.

“In both cases, this will significantly increase the level of investment and support available for each product range and brand,” he said. “We have a shared destiny, in that many of our UpRight powered access customers are UpRight ATS customers.”
