Welti Furrer invests in Terex cranes

Swiss crane service provider Welti Furrer is in the process of upgrading its fleet and has chosen Terex Cranes products: Having placed two Terex Explorer 5800 all terrain cranes into operation in April, the company collected the first of two Terex AC 350/6 cranes from Zweibrücken in May followed by a second unit with the exact same equipment in July.

In May, Amos Dubacher, Welti Furrer’s technical coordinator, traveled to the facilities in Zweibrücken, together with three crane operators, in order to receive both training and the company’s newest crane. Once the Swiss team arrived in Zweibrücken, Terex Cranes sales managers Andreas Schramm and Oskar Meier handed over the machine.

Dubacher said, “The fact that the cranes have the same equipment and configuration means that we can install the accessories on either one as needed, giving us the maximum level of flexibility and versatility possible” Dubacher is especially excited about the 72m-long luffing jib with its large lifting capacities and the AC 350/6 crane’s two-winch operation. “In addition, the fact that the crane has a compact design and a small front overhang means that it is the perfect match for areas with limited space,” he said.

Because of logistical reasons, Welti Furrer will station the cranes at its locations in Wil and Windisch, in Switzerland, enabling them to cover a large area of operation.
