JBT to demonstrate flexible stacking abilities at LogiMAT 2020

JBT, a leading global supplier of automatic guided vehicle (AGV) systems, will be showcasing the flexibility of its CB Series at this year’s LogiMAT, which takes place at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre on 10-12 March (Stand B21).

With an increased need for safe, quick and reliable stacking of pallets, stillages and other large heavy loads, the CB Series has a lift height of up to 6 metres and a lift capacity of 3,500 kgs.  The AGV can also stack complex stillages like wire mesh boxes and automotive-style metal stillages and the CB Series FTS is capable of block stacking various load types such as pallets in beverage, food and consumer products even in a small footprint.

“Our CB Series is designed for easy configuration to individual load types, ranging in weight from 500 to 3,500 kgs” said Mark Stevenson, JBT’s sales director for AGVs in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  “But we can do larger vehicles on request, with block stacking up to 6 or 7 high depending on the load type and operating conditions.”

AGVs often resemble a manual fork lift truck but operate automatically without a driver. The systems use flexible user-friendly software to reduce costs and optimise deliveries and traffic control. JBT’s systems are configurable to suit customer requirements by adding additional safety features and using multiple fork attachments.  All load handling capabilities are completely integrated for highly reliable and repeatable picking and dropping functions, even at the highest elevations with the heaviest loads.  These can include barcode readers or RFID (radio-frequency identification) and integrated 3D cameras for the most demanding stacking precision requirements.

JBT has been designing and manufacturing AGVs for over 26 years for the global market. Last year it introduced a new forkover-style AGV specifically designed for the European market. It also produces counterbalance units, a freezer vehicle, a reach truck, outdoor AGVs and trailer loading solutions.
