New European sales manager for Unic Cranes Europe

Emilio Lens has been appointed European Sales Manager for Unic Cranes Europe and given the job of managing and growing a dealer network throughout Europe, UAE and South Africa.

The announcement comes after a launch of the new Unic URW-345 ‘pop-up’ crane at Bauma, Munich in October 2022, with production units expected to be delivered this Summer.

Multi-lingual Lens speaks five languages, English, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese and French; and joins the business with over two decades global sales experience in equipment sales. He began his working career in 1995 as a mechanical engineer, which saw him move into global sales in 2001. Notable positions include, regional manager – Northern and Eastern Europe at JCB, business development and sales director – emerging markets for Terex and global sales director for Stork.

Regarding his new position, Lens said, “I am happy to be at Unic Cranes Europe with a great team and a history of being a very successful, family-run business.

“Our strategic objective is to develop the dealer network throughout Europe, with a focus on Eastern Europe. I will be working with the dealer network to maximise the opportunities and impact within their respective territories.

“The World is back open for business and Unic will be front and centre, working to drive the mini crane market in Europe. Drawing on my experience, UNIC is a well-recognised brand within the mini crane market and there is huge potential for future growth.

“The machines are well-built and very reliable, with an excellent support structure in place to back them up. We have immediate availability of stock and parts; experienced engineers and technicians; and can also offer accredited training courses both in the UK and overseas. In my experience, we offer one of the most comprehensive product and service packages available on the market.

“Through continuous innovation and working closely with the dealer network and key accounts, I am looking forward to playing a part in taking the Unic brand forward.”

Graeme Riley, CEO of Unic Cranes Europe said, “Emilio brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record in sales, engineering and of course, his notable foreign language skills.

“The past couple of years have been interesting times, especially navigating the political landscape with regards to Brexit and the barriers to trade that were brought through lockdown restrictions. Having said that, we’re still moving forward.

“We have new products that were launched at Bauma in October last year, we have a new European sales manager in Emilio and we have also began working with a number of new European dealers.

“There are plenty of things happening at Unic and we are delighted to have Emilio on board, with this wealth of knowledge and expertise.”
