Palfinger opens first flagship store

Palfinger is building a new location in Poing near Munich, Germany on a site of almost 12,000sqm. Here, the company will combine product presentation, service and the future-way-of-work in a holistic architectural concept.

Palfinger is growing worldwide and at the same time is expanding its footprint in existing core markets, such as Germany. In Munich, it is applying an innovative concept and is building its first Palfinger flagship store. “We are combining several functions – a large showroom, efficient service workshops that meet all requirements and modern offices – in an eye-catching new building and offering all services integrated into one location,” explains Gerhard Sturm, senior vice president of global sales and service at Palfinger AG. The company is therefore giving its customers and partners the opportunity to get to know its latest product innovations and to see them in action in the outdoor area. “With this exclusive offering, our Palfinger flagship store is absolutely state-of-the-art, not only in Germany,” said Sturm.

The first phase of construction of offices and a workshop for service and bodywork will be built by 2025. In a second construction phase, this complex can be significantly expanded. Architecture plays an important role in this, combining the principles of sustainability, energy efficiency and the future-way-of-work.

With its new flagship store, Palfinger is moving closer to its international and German customers. “For anyone travelling via the airport, Munich-Poing is the fastest way to ‘drop by’ at Palfinger to get to know the highlights of our product portfolio,” says Thomas Nußbaumer, managing director, Palfinger GmbH Germany. The same applies to service and maintenance. By offering its services first-hand in a central location for the greater Munich area, Palfinger intensifies relationships with its customers and shortens service times. “We can implement this project quickly thanks to the good cooperation with the Poing municipal council,” says Nußbaumer.

Munich is also one of the most important research locations in Germany; there is a tradition here of cooperation between university, non-university and industrial research. In this environment, Palfinger has additional opportunities to expand its research and development partnerships in a competitive field. “Our flagship store in Munich represents the Palfinger spirit in a unique way and is an essential hub in our worldwide network of more than 5,000 locations,” said Sturm.
