SJ20 E – expands Skyjack’s vertical mast range in Europe

Skyjack has announced that the SJ20 E Vertical Mast will be coming to Europe with product available in Q 1 of 2023. The SJ20 E expands the vertical mast range. Complete with a 7.94m working height, full electric drive, and a wind rating, the SJ20 E offers a compelling ROI for rental companies.

“In common with the existing SJ12 E and SJ16 E the SJ20 E lift features proportional lift and drive controls with full electric drive, the latter in response to the growing demand for vertical masts with increased duty cycle expectations,” says David Hall, product manager at Skyjack.

The SJ20 E’s consistent torque provides up to 25% gradeability and boasts a 159kg platform capacity. Its compact size has been achieved without compromising the work area. The overall weight of 1170kg translates into low ground pressures, making this product ideal for wide range of applications.

“The Skyjack vertical masts range features an onboard diagnostic system,” continues Hall. “By providing operators or service technicians with real-time faults in plain simple language, we’ve eliminated the need for plug-in calibration for day-to-day troubleshooting.”

Other commonalities with its smaller counterparts include:

  • Variable speed direct AC electric drive which provides superior drive efficiency and improved controllability
  • Multi-stage hydraulic cylinder and inverted mast design with large overlaps to increase rigidity
  • A traversing deck that provides up to 0.41m of up-and-over capability
  • Maintenance free pothole protection with improved ground clearance
  • Easy-access maintenance hatch, providing unrestricted access to all major components including batteries

“While designing the SJ20 E, we kept customer demands in mind, specifically the demand for both indoor and outdoor applications,” Hall continues. “The SJ20 E has an optional wind rating for one person up to 5.96m working height, which increases the application possibilities and increases the rate of return for rental companies.”

In common with the Skyjack vertical mast range, the SJ20 E features the new green ECO label accompanied by an ECO Matrix which details additional sustainability benefits. “As governments around the world are increasingly promoting a more sustainable agenda, it’s increasingly down to rental companies and contractors to meet emission regulations. Our new models are examples of how we’ve been able to bridge practicality with sustainable efficiency by decreasing the overall carbon footprint for our customers,” says Hall.
